According to Seventh Generation, “An essential oil can be anything from mood lifting to relaxing. And don’t worry, it’s super easy to add essential oils to your life.” Here are three ways that essential oils make a great addition to your vegan routine: Essential Oils for…

Are your sanitary products harming you?

Funny thing about pcos and periods is you either have really heavy bleeds or you can go years without seeing one. I fall into the latter category. My last visit from aunt flo was somewhere in the region of a couple of years ago. I am talking natural periods not birth control induced. Now I don’t know about you but I am one of those lucky cysters who normally gets all the pain and none of the period. I get the tell tale signs that my body is trying it’s hardest to get things moving, backache, night sweats, craving for sugary things etc but then nada, nothing, zip. So imagine…

How to enjoy Halloween -Vegan Kids, Halloween and Trick-or-Treating

Halloween that magical time of year when the nights are getting darker and the air is crisp. Halloween has always been my favourite celebration, I love the costumes, the stories and of course all of the sweets. Then I became vegan and I realised just how limiting it can be for parents of vegan children. Many people don’t consider the fact that vegan children may come knocking at their doors, sweet bag in hand looking for a variety of treats that give dentists nightmares. Now when I buy sweets for Halloween I make sure that they don’t contain any nasties. Halloween for vegans just requires a little bit of extra…

I am constantly on the look out for new treats to nibble on throughout the evening. Working very early mornings means my sleep pattern tends to be inverted. Staying healthy is key to…

    Vegan Cauliflower and Lentil Curry

Curry was never a favourite dish of mine. I always found it too spicy or lacking in flavour. Add that to the acid reflux factor and you have a recipe for disaster. When I began my vegan journey I found a lot of lentil curry recipes and I was determined to give curry another go. Boy, am I glad I did! Nothing is as yummy on a cold winter night as a bowl full of rice and lentil curry. The rice flavours from the gravy coat the vegetables and produce a lovely aromatic dish. Curry is a very versatile dish which allows for lots of experimentation. You can add more…
